We are currently hiring a Tissue Recovery Coordinator, four Donation Coordinators, two Communication Specialists, and two Tissue Recovery Specialist - Trainees.

Tissue Recovery Coordinator

Full-time, St. Paul, MN

LifeSource seeks an experienced, adaptable, committed leader for this position. This full-time position is responsible for coordinating the screening and recovery of tissue donors referred from hospitals in the LifeSource service area, providing guidance and training to the recovery teams and monitoring recovery activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in Health Science, RN, PA, Mortuary Science or Certificate of Pathology preferred. Certification as a Nurse Assistant, Surgical Technologist or similar program required.

* Proven experience in tissue recovery, surgery or smiliar job function.

* Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

* Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills required.

* Ability to participate in on-call responsibilities for 15 days per month, including 2 weekends.

* Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.

* Must be able to stand for 100% of time during a recovery case; push/pull up to 150 lbs with assistance; lift up to 50# and transfer objects short distances.

Donation Coordinator

Join a team of motivated, highly skilled Donation Coordinators dedicated to helping people through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. As a Coordinator you will work with donor families, hospital staff, and transplant centers by responding to referrals and coordinating the organ donation process. This full time position also offers the opportunity for participation in research, presentations and education.

Requirements:

* RN, PA or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years of critical care, or emergency room experience

* Ability to multitask, think critically, operate independently, and demonstrate solid interpersonal skills

* Be able to participate in 24 hour on-call schedule

Communication Specialists

Join a team of Communication Specialists who works directly with hospital staff and medical examiners to screen patients over the phone for the potential for organ, tissue and eye donation. This is an opportunity to use your medical training and also your great interpersonal and critical thinking skills in a whole new way. You will talk with families over the phone providing them with the opportunity for donation and obtaining authorization.

We are searching for an experienced professional with a strong work record, who is team-oriented, flexible and wants to make a difference. To be a successful member of our Communication Center Team you will have:

* Bachelors degree in health sciences or equivalent of 4 years experience as a LPN, Paramedic, Medical Lab Technician, Medical Records Clerk, Medical Secretary, or Medical Assistant or other related fields required. Experience in organ and tissue donation and bilingual skills are preferred.

* Extensive medical terminology and understanding of human anatomy and disease process.

*Data entry skills

* Ability to multitask, think critically, operate independently, and demonstrate solid interpersonal and telephone skills

* Ability to work three 12 hour shifts per week, rotating days, nights, weekends and holidays

Tissue Recovery Specialist - Trainee

Part-time On-call, St. Paul, MN

Would you like to be in a position where you will play a rewarding role in helping to saves lives? Join a team of motivated, highly skilled professionals dedicated to helping people through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. In this position you will participate in aseptic tissue recovery for transplantation.

Requirements:

* High school education or equivalent. College or technical preferred.

* Min. 18 months surgical experience required, orthopedic exp. preferred. Normally achieved as a Surgical Tech / Allied Health Professional, Surgical Assistant, PA or other like positions.

* Be available at least 12 days per month, must include a minimum of three weekend days per month, holiday call and required meetings.

* Must have a valid driver license.

* Must have strong knowledge of human anatomy.

* Be able to stand for long periods. Be able to push/pull up to 150 pounds with assistance and lift/carry heavy objects short distances.

This Part Time on-call position is paid on a per case basis.
